Reflection:
This reflection is trying to say no matter how bad a child acts, they do not deserve to be locked up in a restroom or anywhere for 6 years. This type of punishment is not tolerated in any way. Children deserve freedom as well as if they do something bad they should get punished. But this type of punishment went to far. This could have put the girl in great danger. And nobody was their to help her out.

Balancing High School and Part- Time work
Balancing High School
and Part-Time Work
Part 1
Like many high school students, you may want- or need- to
work part time. Working takes a lot of time and energy, though, so before
getting a job, make sure that you think about your ability to handle both work
and your education.
Important Considerations
You have to weigh a number of factors when deciding whether
to take on a part- time job. It’s more important to get as much information as
possible, so you can figure out what choice makes the most sense for you.
Schedule a meeting with your school counselor to discuss the
idea of working. Talk to your counselor about why you want to work and what
type of position you’re seeking.

Help in Choosing Courses
Use College Search to
look up a specific college’s academic requirements to be sure you are on track
to attend the college of your choice.
If you have
concerns about your class schedule or progress in school, set up a meeting with
your school counselor, teacher or adviser. There are many resources to help you
with this process and with achieving your personal, college and career goals. Without
goals, you meander all sorts of directions. Goals give you purpose, direction,
enthusiasm, and passion for that which you really desire. Define your goals
deliberately, evaluate your goals often and make changes as necessary, work
hard to achieve your goals, and continue working hard until you actually do
reach your goals.

The
Arts
Many colleges
require or recommend one or two semesters in the arts. God choices include
studio art, dance, music and drama. Many students have talents and
extraordinary abilities in the arts. Students should look within their own
repertoire of talents and identify their artistic abilities and take college
classes to develop their talents.
Advanced
Placement Program (AP)
To be sure
you are ready to take on college- level work, enroll in the most challenging courses
you can in high school, such as honors or AP courses. Research consistently
shows that students who score a 3.0 or higher on an AP Exam typically
experience greater academic success and college graduation rates than students
who don’t take AP.
Work hard in
your righteous pursuits, and you will reap the benefits of self-fulfillment and
job satisfaction. Don’t take shortcuts just to “get by,” instead, take
challenging and difficult roads (courses) and reach higher mountain peaks of
achievement.

“To know what is right
and not do it is the worst cowardice.”
Confucius
Reflection:
People who know what’s
right and do it are just little cowards. When doing bad and knowing you are
suppose to do good is just unacceptable. You are suppose to always do good
whether you like it or not, unless you want to end up in jail, or killed.

Washington Sears 60 years later (summary)
Summary
This guy should be forgiven for choosing the right because he went back and returned the money. During those 60 years the man couldn't do anything without having that conscience that he stole money from the store. Know that he returned the money he feels good about himself and choose the right.

The following
subjects and classes are standard fare for success I high school and beyond,
whether you plan to attend a four-year or two-year college.
English (Language Arts)
Take English every year. Traditional courses, such as American
and English literature, help you improve your writing skills, reading comprehensive
and vocabulary.
Math
You need algebra and geometry to succeed on college math classes-
and in many careers. Take them early on. That way, you’ll be able to enroll in
advanced science and math in high school, and show colleges you’re ready for
higher level work.
Most colleges look for students who have taken three years
of math in high school. The more competitive ones require or recommend four
years. Each school has its own program, but some of the courses typically
offered are:
·
Algebra I
·
Algebra I I
·
Geometry
·
Trigonometry

'Til the Set of the Sail
Ella Wheeler Wilcox 1916
But to every mind there openeth,
A way,a way, and away.
A high soul climbs the highway,
And the low soul gropes the low,
And in between on the misty flats,
The rest drift and fro.
But to every man there openeth,
A high way and a low,
And every mind decideth,
The way his soul shall go.
One ship sails East,
And the other West,
By the self-same winds that below,
'Tis the set of the sails
And not the gales,
That tells the way we go.
Like the winds of the sea
Are the waves of time,
As we journey along through life,
'Tis the set of the soul,
That determines the goal,
And not the calm or the strife.

The academic rigor of your high
school courses is an important factor in the college admission process. College
admission officers see your high school course schedule as a blueprint of your
education. They’re looking for a solid foundation of learning that you can
build on in college.
To create that foundation, take at
least five solid academic classes every semester. Start with the basics and
then move on to advanced courses. Challenging yourself is part of what makes
school fun; but you need a firm grasp of the fundamentals before going on to
more advanced work.

The Power of Study Groups
The Power of Study Groups
Part 4
Getting the Most Out of a SessionHere are some tips to help your group get the most out of each study session:
• Decide what you’re going to do in advance.
• Prepare for the session, so you can make the most of your time together.
• Take turns teaching, to reinforce your own knowledge.
• Stick to the session topic.
By supplementing your individual study with a study group, you can reinforce what you’ve learned, deepen our understanding of complex concepts, and maybe even make a few new friends. Remember that a friend is a person who encourages you to do your best and to achieve on a high level, one who pushes you to try a little harder and be a litter better. If someone pulls you down the wrong trails of life, then those are not friends, (they are actually your enemies), and you must avoid them at all cost. Whoever said learning can’t be fun? Learning is enjoyable and exciting when you study with others.

The Power of Study
Groups
Part 3
Guidelines
for Getting a Group Together
Here are
some guidelines for creating and running a study group: How many? Create a
group for four to six people. In a larger group, it’s easy for someone to get
left out and smaller groups can too easily get off track.
Who? Pick classmates
who seem to share your interest in doing well academically. Look for people who
stay alert in class, take notes, ask questions and respond to teacher’s
questions. Include someone who understands the material better than you do and
can explain the concepts and someone who doesn’t understand it as well, to whom
you can explain the material.
Where? Hold study
group sessions in place that is free of distractions and that has room to
spread out books and notes. How long? Meet for no more than two to three hours
at a tie. Having a time limit helps the group focus. If you know you only have
an hour, you’re more likely to stay on task.
When? Try to
meet regularly, on the same day and time each week. Treating the study session
as you would other activities helps you to keep to a schedule and ensures that
everyone attends.

Working Together Helps Everyone
You may have noticed that when you’re explaining something
you’ve learned to be a friend, you begin to understand it better yourself. This
happens because, when you explain an idea, you need to think more deeply about
it.
The small principle makes study groups useful. studying with
others in a small group is helpful because you:
·
Think out loud
·
Share ideas
·
Learn from one another
In an effective study group, you and other students hash out
lesson materials together- explaining concepts, arguing about them, figuring
out why one person’s answer differs from another’s- and in the process, you
mostly likely learn more than you would have studying by yourself.
